After a two-day train ride from Winnipeg, Kim Mance and Lonely Planet‘s Robert Reid‬‬ arrive in the “polar bear capital of the world”, Churchill Manitoba. Situated on Canada’s Hudson Bay, Churchill and its environs are on subarctic permafrost, and as the two travel writers take off on adventure tours to see wild Polar Bears and Beluga Whales in their natural habitat, they find the locals to be warm and friendly.
